Gilihüsine (Bettmeralp)

On a sunny Sunday afternoon, the sports enthusiasts from Bettmeralp used to climb up the green slope to the lake known as Bettmersee. Here on the gently rising terrain below the lake, they used to play the game of "Gilihüsine" with great enthusiasm and dedication. This is a traditional form of the Swiss sport of Hornussen, a cross between baseball and golf. We want to revive this wonderful old tradition in Bettmeralp, playing this year for the third time. The "Gilihüsine" event will take place on the field next to Bettmersee on Sunday, September 15. It doesn't matter how old you are or whether you are an experienced player or just a beginner, everyone is invited to watch this long-established game, try it out or even bring a team to take part.
Hot and cold food will be available on the field. Everybody is welcome to join us and help revive this old tradition! Further information can be obtained from Bettmeralp Tourism.
