The Aletsch Arena is a partner in the international pilot project "Kids on ski – for free". 200 young skiers, aged 3 to 5 years, have the opportunity in the off-season to participate for free in a comprehensive care package. This includes 5 days of ski school for 3 hours each day, rental equipment, lift ticket, and accommodation (when accompanied by an adult) on the following dates:
- 18–22 December 2023
- 15–19 January 2024
- 22–26 January 2024
- 11–15 March 2024
- 18–22 March 2024
For all dates, the accommodation duration is from Saturday to Saturday. Ski school courses with rental equipment take place from Monday to Friday. The ski lessons are scheduled as follows:
Riederalp:
- Children under 4 years old: "Toddlers" course from 14.00 to 16.00
- Children aged 4 and above: "Kids" course from 10.00 to 13.00
Fiescheralp:
- Lessons for everyone from 10.00 to 13.00
Bettmeralp:
- Beginners (Snowgarden): from 10.00 to 12.00
- Advanced (Prinzenland): from 10.00 to 12.30
The cross-destination campaign aims to promote winter sports in the Alpine region and to teach 50'000 children to ski or snowboard for free over the next 3 years. The initiative is based on the understanding that the primary promoters of winter sports are the parents and grandparents. They should be able to pass on their enthusiasm for the sport at an early age and be supported in doing so. In addition to the Aletsch Arena, the following destinations/ski resorts are involved: Alta Badia, Madonna di Campiglio, Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis, Leogang, and Grindelwald.
