Bettmeralp / Riederalp Global Trail

Awe-inspiring view of the Valaisian Alps with the Matterhorn, Weisshorn-Mischabel

Snowshoe hiking is in. As a health resort that’s in keeping with sporting trends we have set up a snow trail between Bettmeralp and Riederalp for winter 2004/05. The trail is approx. 3 km (1.8 miles) long and has an incline of 200 meters (656 feet). It culminates at Gopplerlücke. Here you can enjoy a fantastic view of the two holiday locations of Bettmeralp and Riederalp and the four-thousand-meter high Valaisian Alps.

The route:
From the aerial cable car station at Bettmeralp the route rises along the Bettmerhorn Lift toward Gopplerlücke. The route continues toward Gollmenegg over a forest rise. The trail passes Gollmenegg via the St. Bernhard Center to Flesch. Via Flesch we climb up toward the Hotel Adler and back to Bettmeralp. Besides the start in Bettmeralp there is a second start in Riederalp.
