Where is Bettmeralp?

Bettmeralp is situated on the car-free Aletsch plateau at the top end of Valais, the canton famous for its sunshine, its mountains and its wines, at an altitude of 1950 m above sea level, approximately 1000 m above the Rhone valley and thus far from the traffic and hectic bustle of everyday life. It is backed by the Bettmerhorn and Eggishorn mountains and the Aletsch glacier, the biggest in Europe, with its unique arolla pine woods. Looking across the valley into the clear Mountain air almost makes you feel to be able to touch the mountains, the flawless panorama of the Valais four-thousand-metre mountains.
