At the end of June when summer is in full swing in the valley, the Aletsch area offers a unique flower and herb landscape. Schedule of activities

Sunday

Individual arrival in Bettmeralp. 5 pm Welcome drink in the Bettmer-Alphitta (alpine hut) across from the “Maria zum Schnee” chapel.

Monday

Hike through the Aletsch forest and the surrounding alpine meadows. Alpine roses grow high above the glacier and the meadows are filled with gentians and other flowers.

Tuesday

Today we'll look at healing herbs and medicinal plants. You'll learn how to collect, process and apply some of these herbs and produce your own salve.

Wednesday

Free time… enjoy a day in the Aletsch area!

Thursday

Excursion to the village of Betten. We will visit rough pastures between Bettmeralp and Betten.

Friday

Herbs and flowers used in the kitchen. We will collect edible blossoms and herbs from which we will prepare and cook an alpine spring menu accompanied by a glass of Valaisian wine.

Saturday

Extend your Bettmeralp vacation or depart for home.

Maximum number of participants: 10. Minimum number of participants: 4

Equipment

Hiking wear, sturdy shoes, light backpack, rain gear, sunscreen, sunglasses, any medication you may be taking, thermos flask, camera, pen and paper.

Insurance

Participants must arrange their own insurance. The organizer is not liable for injury, damage or accidents. Cancellation insurance can be purchased from ELVIA for 4% of the total amount through Bettmeralp Tourism. You can request ELVIA's contractual terms from Bettmeralp Tourism.
